TERROIR Limestone in all its glory The Lhéraud estate lies among the vineyards dotting the hills on the banks of the Charente river, comprising 85 hectares of ugni blanc, colombard and folle blanche vines spanning six cognac crus, mainly in Petite Champagne. This austere, chalky land with distinct seasons imparts the cognac with a wonderful minerality and length on the palate. In Petite Champagne, we cultivate the roundness and violet scent. In Grande Champagne, a mysterious quality gradually comes into view. In Fin Bois, the sandy soils lend freshness and fragrance. Lhéraud cognacs embody this diversity. The Charente is a beautifully tranquil, winding river. It is where we have been producing exceptional cognacs for two centuries, by letting time work its magic.
